How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us what you need.

Five questions about your business and the rough amount you are after. About a minute.

  2. Step 2

We review it and match you to a finance partner.

A person reads every enquiry. We pass it to the partner best placed to help.

  3. Step 3

They contact you to talk it through.

The conversation covers turnover, trading history and what the money is for. Nothing is applied for until you say so.

The honest bit

cost/quote is a comparison service. It is not a lender and it does not provide finance.

Facilities are provided by British Business Bank accredited lenders at their own discretion, subject to their own credit and fraud checks. Nobody can confirm in advance whether a particular business will be approved.

The scheme gives the lender a 70% government-backed guarantee. The borrower always remains 100% liable for the debt.

The expansion announced in July is being introduced by lenders over the coming weeks. The scheme is open now under its current terms.

cost/quote is free for the business. It is paid a commission by the finance partner, and that never affects what the customer pays.

Full details of the scheme, including which lenders are accredited, are published by the British Business Bank.
